Originally established in Paris, Kentucky in 1856, Chicken Cock was forced to move production up to Canada during Prohibition. The Canadian rye whiskey produced during that era was then smuggled back into the U.S. in tin cans, earning the brand its distinctive nickname — Cotton Club Rye pays tribute to that legacy.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet candy combined with slight glassy rye, somewhat earthy notes, hints of citrus orange peel, spice and white pepper
Palate: A tremendous complexity of spices, vanilla, butterscotch and pepper, beautifully complemented with just enough rum-like sweetness for overall flavor depth
Finish: Very long and enjoyable, with the rye characteristics predominant, wonderfully enhanced with molasses and buttery qualities
